The little Android console that could can now play Sonic!
SEGA have just announced that the Ouya versions of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I and II are now available to purchase on Ouya. As with all Ouya games, the games come with free to download trials which contain the first stage for Episode I and the first two stages for Episode II.
Both games are priced at $6.99 each. No word on UK pricing at this time.
The Android-powered Ouya launches on the 25th of June and SEGA are planning to release 3 Sonic titles for the console.
The games in question are Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episodes I & II as well as Sonic CD. These will more than likely be upscaled versions of the already existing Android versions of the games.
All 3 games will be released on June 27th and American pricing has been announced at $6.99 per game. Trial versions will be available as well.
While we love the Sonic the Hedgehog 4 soundtrack, we missed hearing Jun Senoue’s signature guitar work in action. Luckily, the CD version of the soundtrack includes a very special arrangement of all 3 Splash Hill themes with additional instrumentation such as Senoue-san’s famous guitar work. If you haven’t experienced this then make yourself familiar!

What is this pecularliar listing in the Playstation Store titled Sonic DL all about? It can be found under PS3 add-ons. Let’s do a little speculation, shall we?
– The release date is 13/10/2010, the same day Sonic 4 Episode 1 is released on the PAL Playstation Store
– The image is the Project Needlemouse teaser image which probably means this is related to Sonic 4
– Because it was listed on 13/10/2010 makes me think that this is probably related to Sonic 4 Episode 1 and not Episode 2
– This could be a temporary listing for Sonic 4 Episode 1 DLC that was never taken down
– It could be that no DLC was ever planned and this is a temporary holding for Sonic 4 Episode 1
– Could the ‘DL’ stand for ‘DownLoad’? Was this the working title for Sonic 4 Episode 1?
