Crush 40

About The Band

Crush 40 is the collaboration of both Jun Senoue (Of long-term Sega guitaring fame) and Johnny Gioeli (The vocalist of Axel Rudi Peli and his own band, Hardline).

Originally the band was called Sons Of Angels, a likely homage to Jun Senoue’s previous collaboration with Eric Martin for the Daytona USA CCE soundtrack (Which hosted the song “Sons of Angels”), by the turn of the millenium they had changed their name to Crush 40 and began work on the opening theme tune for Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast. The song, Open Your Heart, was so well recieved that Crush 40 became the band to commonly create the Sonic game themes. Live and Learn, What I’m Made Of and even All Hail Shadow for Shadow the Hedgehog.

The band have released a few of their own albums, although they tend to feature tracks created and/or used in Sonic the Hedgehog games. The group has a particularly strong following in Germany, with a dedicated fansite here.
