The arcade power stick II necessitates the need for 6 buttons, particularly fighting games that grew in popularity during the early nineties. The form factor of this controller is almost identical to the original arcade power stick except that SEGA have moved to using turbo switches instead of buttons, probably because the face of the controller would have become very busy with another 6 buttons above the existing face buttons. We also have a new switch that allows us to change from 6 button to 3 button configuration and there’s also a mode button that does the same thing. An incredibly satisfying and feature-rich controller to use.
